These are increasingly more popular. Some collectors prefer to proudly showcase their coins in archival folders, while others like air-tight capsules, or mylar-lined carboard. Whatever you do, do not store yours in the PVC flips you often see on the marketplace. These are comprised of PVC which breaks down over time and destroys the piece it was to protect. In the event you purchase a coin already within one of these, move it as quickly as possible to a better storage medium. You may consider Mylar, but recognize that these are brittle and might scuff the piece if it is not inserted and removed carefully. While they are not airtight, they are reasonable alternatives for medium priced coins that will be "left alone" for numerous a long time.
