Whatever you choose, don't store yours in the soft flips you often see on the marketplace. These are made from PVC which decomposes in time and ruins the piece it was intended to preserve. Should you buy coins already in such a sleeve, move it as soon as possible to a better storage medium. You may consider Mylar, but recognize that they are brittle and might scratch the piece if it is not placed and removed with care. Although they are not air-tight, they're alternatives for medium value coins that will be "left alone" for many years. |
