These are growing more popular. Some investors like to proudly showcase their coins in archival folders, while others prefer airtight capsules, or mylar-lined 2x2's. Whatever you do, do not store yours in the soft flips you frequently see on the market. These are made from PVC which breaks down over time and destroys the piece it was intended to protect. If you purchase coins already within one of these, transfer it as soon as possible to a better storage medium. You may consider Mylar, but recognize that these are hard and may scuff the piece if isn't inserted and removed with care. Although they are not airtight, they are alternatives for moderate priced coins that will untouched for numerous years.
