These are increasingly more desirable. Some collectors prefer to proudly showcase their coins in archival folders, while others prefer airtight capsules, or mylar-lined carboard. Whatever you choose, don't store yours in the soft flips you often find on the marketplace. They are made from PVC which breaks down over time and destroys the piece it was to protect. In the event you acquire a coin already in one of these, move it as soon as possible to a better storage medium. You may consider acetate flips, but recognize that they are brittle and might scuff the piece if isn't placed and taken out with care. Although they aren't airtight, they are reasonable alternatives for medium priced coins that will be "left alone" for many a long time.
